Language of Lillian
Lillian: Let’s speak my language. You add “illian” to the end of everything. So you’d say ‘How sillian!’
She took the words right out of my mouth!
Christmas 2011
We are definitely in the golden years for having kids at Christmas-time. Ever since the Advent calendar came out, Evelyn has been asking if it was time to open presents and saying things like “Mommy, can you can’t wait for Christmas, cause I can’t!” We filled our time by making gingerbread houses, watching holiday specials and listening to Christmas music in the car (with occasional stints of Phineas and Ferb instead). I ended up getting either a sinus infection or the flu for a week so it was tough trying to get everything squeezed in this year. The girls did get to perform in Redeemer’s Christmas pageant and Evelyn and I made it to Lillian’s party at school. Other highlights were our trip to the Pink Pig, daddy and Lillian’s Nutcracker date and a new one this year, going to the Puppetry Center to see a live action Rudolph play. Of course, no year is complete without seeing Santa Claus. This year we were able to meet him for dinner at a local pizza place. Not only were the girls able to tell him what they wanted, but Mrs. Claus made special bell necklaces for all the kids with their names on it.
Smile like you mean it, Santa’s watching!

Wait, why’s Lillian on the dog bed?

Well if no one else is going to stick a bow on me this year…

Look how cute they are when they are pretending that they love each other!

Waffle House
Somehow it recently came to our attention that the girls had never been to Waffle House. Jason thought that was a shame (I was neutral on the matter), so tonight after spending the afternoon at Momo’s house, we stopped in for dinner. The girls opted for sitting on stools, we listened to Silent Night on the juke box and Lillian declared the waffles to be “2nd place” compared to mommy’s, keeping everyone happy. We did hit a couple snags. Evelyn had just had a hot dog at Momo’s house, so I tried to get her a fruit cup. “Nope, no fruit.” They were advertising their new oatmeal, so I tried to order that. “Nope, not after 2.” Thank goodness they hadn’t run out of the healthy chocolate pie the girls wanted as well!

Lillian Likes It – The Muppets

Our second installment is a review of The Muppets. While mommy and daddy felt this version didn’t quite live up to the original, Lillian Likes It! Lillian felt that “the part where they tie the guy up and he goes ‘Hey, don’t tie me up!’ is so funny!” A close second was the inclusion of Fozzie’s fart shoes, only eclipsed by the knowledge that she may get into trouble for laughing about the dreaded “F” word. While Evelyn thought the end of the movie was a literal snoozefest, she agreed with Lillian that the timeless Manah Manah song at the end was a nice touch.
Scale of 0-10: Fart shoes!
